Congressman Bart Stupak (D-MI), a Catholic who we have written about in numerous other posts, paved the way for his amendment to be voted on in the House of Representatives before the vote on the overall healthcare bill just a couple weeks ago. His bi-partisan amendment, which prevents the government from funding abortion, passed overwhelmingly in the House with even more votes than the healthcare bill itself.

The Susan B. Anthony List, a great group who helps to elect pro-life politicians, is currently running a positive ad in Bart Stupak’s district in Michigan thanking him for standing up for the unborn, for protecting women and children and for making sure the government doesn’t fund abortions.
